Radolfzell: Schools receive 300,000 euros

Radolfzell – Last year, the Werner and Erika Messmer Foundation once again made numerous projects possible in schools and educational institutions. The importance of the Messmer Foundation for the city of Radolfzell became clear once again during the distribution and presentation of the total of 74 funded projects, which recently took place in the host school. Mayor Monika Laule praised not only the reliability of the foundation, but especially the long-term support of Radolfzell’s educational landscape. “We are pleased to have the Messmer Foundation on our side. “This makes our city more attractive,” she stated. The biggest beneficiaries of the distributions are of course the students, who firstly create the prerequisites for funding from the foundation and secondly benefit from the improved opportunities afterwards. Many of the 36 different applicants were pleased to receive funding for several projects. The projects that were submitted represent a wide range, as do the facilities. They range from purchasing instruments or tools to activities such as attending a theater or workshop. In general, applicants have three different funding areas to choose from. Applications must always be submitted by the school management by October 31st.

A total of 291,850 euros were distributed to the 74 funded projects last year. Together with the funding that was distributed to clubs and institutions in May, the Messmer Foundation came to a total of 967,866 euros last year. We are not only happy about the “results that can be seen,” explained the chairwoman of the board of trustees, Sabine Adam, but also about the strengthening of young people that results from successful projects. One of these results is right in the schoolyard of the host school. The Messmer Foundation made a soccer arena possible there, which, according to school principal Tobias-Jonathan Rottmann, was well received by his students.
