Barlachstadt Güstrow honors its 2024 athlete of the year | NDR.de – News – Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania

The athletes of the year 2024 were honored at a festive reception on Friday evening in Güstrow (Rostock district). Prizes went, among others, to Matthias Hackbarth for his work as a table tennis coach in the youth sector and to the ATSV Güstrow men’s hockey team, which is playing in the 2nd Hockey Bundesliga this season. Rider Elisa Möller-Eilmann was also honored. She became the national vaulting champion last year. Athlete Lukas Kuntermann also received an award. He won titles in duathlon and triathlon at different distances in 2024. Among other things, he is German champion in the 25 age group over the long distance, as well as 3.6 kilometers of swimming, 180 kilometers of cycling and 42 kilometers of running. He will compete in the Ironman in Italy this year and qualify for the World Championships in Hawaii in 2026.
