LIVE: District Championship West – FuPa

Ten teams will compete in the West football district on Saturday for a total of four starting places for the indoor district championship, which will take place on January 18th in Pocking. The district final, organized by SV Frauenbiburg, will be held in the Dingolfinger Höll-Ost sports hall. TuS Pfarrkirchen starts as defending champions. On paper, FC Ergolding is the big favorite, having recently become Lower Bavarian champions twice in a row.

Michael Heckner, coach of the district league team, keeps the ball flat in advance: “We have to do without a few real indoor specialists this winter and no longer have the troops we had in previous years. Nevertheless, we still have a decent team that wants to present itself well and that I have a lot of confidence in. We will compete with a mixed team of first and second teams.

The defending champions TuS Pfarrkirchen have already caused a sensation in the hall. The Rottalers not only qualified for the top-class SAR Cup, but also won their own team kick. “We have a good core of indoor players who like to play and want to get the most out of it on Saturday. Of course we want to play a good tournament and get as far as possible. “But we didn’t want to qualify for the Lower Bavarians, so that’s no big deal.”says TuS football boss Josef Burmberger.

In addition to the two district league teams, there are a number of other strong teams such as TSV Pilsting, which won the preliminary round tournament in Arnstorf with ease and was also able to win the FC Dingolfing VoBa Cup in its favor. “My boys enjoy playing indoors and we will probably have the same squad as in Arnstorf. Unfortunately we got into a very difficult group, but we still want to sell well and maybe we can cause a surprise.”hopes Pilsting’s coach Benjamin Süßbauer. FC Dingolfing’s district league team, coached by Martin Abraham, will be starting as local heroes. They will compete with a very young line-up and are eyeing qualification for the district championship.

Group classification:
Group A: TSV Abensberg, TSV Landshut-Auloh, SV Ihrlerstein, SpVgg Kapfelberg, FC Dingolfing II
Group B: TuS Pfarrkirchen, FC Ergolding, TSV Pilsting, SV Landshut-Münchnerau, SG Rottenburg

The tournament starts at 11 a.m. The first two placed teams in each season make it to the semi-finals, which means qualification for the district championship. The final is scheduled to end at 4:20 p.m.
