Colorado Springs influencer weighs in on Supreme Court’s looming Tiktok ban

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) – Most members of the Supreme Court appear to be sticking to their position on banning TikTok. A hearing on the app’s connection to China and the protection of free speech was held on Friday.

“I definitely couldn’t have predicted a TikTok ban, but I will always say don’t put all your eggs in one basket,” said Colorado Springs influencer Alexa Reynoso.

Reynoso says she has been able to expand her social media reach to others Platforms outside of TikTok.

your page, Explore Colorado Springs, has received thousands of views. A video showing a nitrogen ice cream shop in the Springs received over 100,000 views on TikTok alone.

“TikTok, I mean, they can go viral quickly or frankly. We will post for a month. It will take 6 to 8 weeks and then it will go viral,” Reynoso said.

With the ban expected to take effect on January 19, Reynoso said she was thinking about her friends whose main source of income is TikTok.

“They’re at risk of what happens after this ban and whether my income goes away or what comes next, so it’s definitely a scary place for them,” she said.

President-elect Donald Trump has called for a temporary suspension of the ban before it takes effect. The court is still waiting for a final decision. If the app is indeed banned, Reynoso says she will look for the next app.

“It’s just going to turn into something else, so honestly, I’m open to what’s next when it goes away and staying early. That’s what made people big on TikTok, who got in early and made it big,” Reynoso said.
