According to Sky, the Egyptian is being courted by Manchester City. Krösche comments on the speculation.

Eintracht Frankfurt’s sports director Markus Krösche confirmed for the first time the interest of other clubs in top striker Omar Marmoush, but withheld further details. “Basically it is the case that contact was made by a club,” said Krösche on Sky before the Bundesliga game at FC St. Pauli. The broadcaster reported this week that English champions Manchester City have already reached an agreement with the Egyptian.

Accordingly, there is a contract until 2030, according to Sky, the SGE insisted on a transfer fee of 80 million euros. Krösche did not reveal any more details. “There is no point in discussing prices,” he said. Marmoush has “developed very well, so it’s normal that there are interested parties.”

Krösche once again emphasized that he wanted to keep the squad together, but that the financial pain threshold of the Frankfurt games also played a role: “If extraordinary things happen, we have to think about it.” Marmoush had only extended his contract in the summer until 2027 and advanced with 13 goals and eight Assists in the first half of the season so far for Frankfurter Lebensversicherung.

Coach Dino Toppmöller also gave little insight before the party. “In the end he has to give the answer on the pitch,” he said on Sky. He “of course” hoped that his protégé would stay: “Who would want to lose a player in this category?” “Now he’s here and the focus is on the game today,” said the 44-year-old.
