Frédéric Prinz von Anhalt’s life is apparently in danger: The 81-year-old is in the intensive care unit of a Cologne clinic with severe pneumonia.

Long-term oxygen therapy (or LTOT; English for “Long Term Oxygen Therapy”) and antibiotics are now supposed to help. If the treatment method does not work, the adopted son of Princess Marie Auguste of Anhalt (1898–1983) must be treated artificially. Frédéric Prinz von Anhalt had already been in a clinic last January – also because of breathing problems: At that time, the trained baker had suffered smoke inhalation after an unfortunate incident while cooking. “Gas suddenly bubbled up from the oven and filled the kitchen. Then I was gone and woke up in the clinic,” said the then 80-year-old RTL-Interview.

However, it is not known whether the smoke inhalation and his current acute lung disease are related. The last one was from the media Millionaire christened “Hollywood Prince”. However, I repeatedly had to rely on medical help – especially because of the respiratory tract. Corona illness hit him hard in mid-2022. He had to go to the hospital then too. “My lungs are squeezing and my whole body hurts,” said Frédéric on RTL at the time. Let’s hope that the 81-year-old gets back on his feet again this time…
