Manchester City is only in sixth place in the league, but things are doing better in the cup. The top club got their frustration off their chest against a fourth division team. Meanwhile, a Liverpool player sets a record.

England’s football champions Manchester City are in the 4th round of the FA Cup after an effortless 8-0 (3-0) against fourth division team Salford City. The offensive midfielder Jack Grealish, who had not scored his own goal for a year, was also able to celebrate again thanks to his converted penalty kick to make it 4-0.

Liverpool FC (4-0 against Accrington Stanley) and Chelsea FC (5-0 against Morecambe FC) celebrated the same easy home successes against fourth division teams. Brighton & Hove Albion, coached by Fabian Hürzeler, won 4-0 against second division side Norwich City.

For the “Reds”, where coach Arne Slot rested many regulars, young player Rio Ngumoha was in the starting line-up on his debut. At the age of 16 years and 135 days, the attacking player is now Liverpool’s youngest player in FA Cup history.

The club record in a competitive game is still held by Jerome Sinclair, who first played for the traditional club from the northwest of England in the 2012 League Cup at the age of 16 years and six days.
