23rd World Poker Tour (WPT): schedule published until May

The World Poker Tour (WPT) unveiled the long-awaited schedule for the first half of its 23rd season on January 9th. This includes seven events on four continents. We look at the events and give a taste of what poker fans around the world can expect.

Numerous highlights await in the first half of the year

The start of the new season takes place in Southeast Asia. There will even be two tournaments taking place in Cambodia: the WPT Prime Cambodia tournament from February 14th to 18th with a buy-in of $1,100, followed by the WPT Cambodia Championship (February 19th-24th, $3,500 buy-in).

The WPT Rolling Thunder tournament then heads to California (March 16-19), before the WPT Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown in Florida (April 4-8) and WPT Choctaw in Oklahoma (May 2-5 ). ) will bring together talented poker players.

Tournaments have already been held at all three locations in previous years. Parallel to the US tournaments, the WPT Prime Tour will make stops at new locations in Cyprus (March 13-17) and Australia (March 21-26).

WPT CEO Adam Pliska promises “exceptional poker festivals for poker players worldwide”

According to WPT CEO Adam Pliska, the aim of the 2025 WPT season, as in previous years, is to ensure that poker players around the world can experience exceptional poker festivals. The WPT Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown and the WPT Choctaw Championship will even be broadcast on television, giving participating players access to a large stage.

Accompanying Sattelite tournaments are scheduled to take place throughout the first half of WPT Season 23 on online platforms such as ClubWPT, WPT Global and ClubWPT Gold. These are intended to enable more players to take part in qualifying for the larger events in places such as Cambodia and Cyprus from the comfort of their own home. A tournament is also scheduled to take place on the Mediterranean island in the second half of the season.

The new season follows an exciting end to Season 22 in Las Vegas, where Scott Stewart won the WPT World Championship and $2.5 million in prize money. We will soon know who will be among the favorites in the current season.
