Free Monday tickets for the German Museum for SWM customers

To celebrate 100 years of the German Museum on Museum Island in Munich, SWM customers can get a free ticket for all Mondays in 2025.

Munich – The German Museum in Munich will celebrate the opening of the building on Museum Island 100 years ago on June 7, 2025. Stadtwerke (SWM) customers now have reason to be happy: from January onwards, they can visit the exhibitions free of charge every Monday of the year.

“It’s no exaggeration to say that the free Monday ticket is an offer to almost all Munich residents.” “Because, whether it’s an energy or MVG subscription, almost every household in the city is connected to Stadtwerke München in some way,” says Dr. Florian Bieberbach, Chairman of the SWM Management Board.

The offer not only applies to the Museum Island, but also to the transport center and the Schleißheim airfield – and this is how it works…

1. Munich app downloaded onto your smartphone (muenchen-app.swm.de).
2. Click on the German Museum and there on ticket selection.
3. SWM customers can choose up to four free Monday tickets.
4. Enter the last five digits of the SWM customer number.

A SWM customer is anyone who has an energy contract (electricity, natural gas, district heating) with SWM and/or a subscription to MVG (also Deutschlandticket), as well as all members of the M-Fitness Center at the Munich Baths.

The SWM Monday tickets can be redeemed by the last Monday of 2025 at the latest. 250 tickets are available for SWM customers every Monday at the Deutsches Museum.
