Tourist management guidelines in KKS Masjid Bandaraya to be finely coordinated

Kota Kinabalu: The tourism authorities of Sabah will work together with the management of Masjid Bandaraya, one of the most visited sights in the city, to rationalize tourist management in the middle of increasing concerns about the control of crowds and visitor behavior.

“We take tourism management at Masjid Bandaraya Ernst and actively get involved with relevant stakeholders to clear up concerns,” she said on Monday (February 3) in a statement.

Masjid Bandaraya is often referred to as Likas Floating Mosque and is admired for its breathtaking Islamic architecture and picturesque environment against the South Chinese Sea.

As the largest mosque in Kota Kinabalu, she attracts thousands of strings and tourists.

Considerations regarding late visitor management were occurred, including the conditions for tourists and security problems in which independent travelers with e-hail services are involved.

Some visitors have also seen how they took photos in unsuitable places and triggered the alarm both at the mosque and the tourism authorities.

Liew said her ministry was working closely with the stakeholders to ensure that Masjid Bandaraya remains an inviting and well -managed attraction.

“It is crucial that all service providers, including transport companies and travel guides, keep high standards, especially in terms of security, visitor experience and cleanliness,” she said.

She emphasized that the ministry was obliged to promote cooperation with the local authorities in order to consolidate Sabah’s reputation as a first -class travel destination.

In accordance with these efforts, the Industrial Support Committee of the Sabah Tourism Board (StB) met Masjid Bandaraya’s tourism management team with the most important concerns in connection with visitors on Tuesday (January 28).

The highlighted problems included the increasing number of free independent travelers or those who are traveling without a travel guide or travel agency and used e-hail services and access certain areas of the premises.

There were also concerns about the need for further measures such as the additional signage for visitors and the revision of the standard operating processes of the mosque for tourism and transport providers.

Liew said the police and the Federal Ministry of Tourism, Art and Culture.

Liew said the meeting would be an opportunity to collect the stakeholders via the revised SPS for short and feedback on the fine -tuning of visitor management.

STB will also work with e-haailing service providers to set up defined pick-up and pick-up points in the mosque.

In addition, the discussions with JKR will examine the opportunity to set up a dedicated lax zone for tour buses to improve the flow of traffic.

Liew said that the enforcement measures are also taken against non -authorized transport companies, especially against illegal white vans that work outside the regulatory guidelines.

Masjid Bandaraya has long been a favorite among tourists who are looking for a look at Sabah’s rich Islamic heritage, with its large domes and a quiet reflection on the adjacent Lagoon, which makes it one of the most photographed places in the city.

The growing popularity has also shown challenges in the management of large crowds, maintaining the cleanliness and compliance with visitors to the holiness of the mosque.

There were also concerns about inappropriate tourist behavior such as selfies in unsuitable areas or entering limited sections of the mosque.
