He receives 10 to 15 letters a week. The knothole is also well filled this morning. This includes letters and postcards from Michigan and Chicago in the USA as well as from England and Canada. “This is Tinder 130 years ago,” says Siemens. Incidentally, the confidentiality of correspondence does not apply to the letters in the tree. Many are read on site and some are taken home from home and answered.

New trees for climate protection: Forests can offer natural support in the fight against the climate crisis. Trees remove considerable amounts of CO₂ from the atmosphere, grasp some of them in their wood and fill vital oxygen.

Schleswig-Holstein is the least forested state in Germany. For this reason, the Schleswig-Holstein (IB.SH) investment bank, Schleswig-Holstein State Forests (Shlf) and S: Z are obliged to protect the fundraiser for the fundraising campaign “For Tree for Tree for Sh” for more forests and thus for climate protection and biological diversity.

For a donation of five euros, the Shlf will plant a new tree here in Schleswig-Holstein. Click here to go directly to the donation project. We answer all your questions about the campaign shz.de/baum-sh24-faq.
