It’s clear that De’Von Achane has overtaken Mostert to become the Dolphins’ lead back. Behind this duo, rookie Jaylen Wright has excelled in limited action. The fourth-round pick averaged 5.3 yards on his 36 carries, while Mostert only managed 3.5 yards on 45 carries. Meanwhile, Jeff Wilson Jr. hasn’t seen the field since September.

If a team is interested in bringing back a veteran, a Mostert trade could give the Dolphins some more draft capital, some salary cap space, and give Wright the opportunity to become more involved on offense.

There will be a reunion with the 49ers been proposedChristian McCaffrey’s impending return coupled with the success of Jordan Mason and Isaac Guerendo doesn’t make them emerge as a team in need of a stopgap for the 32-year-old.

The Broncos could use the boost, though.

Denver is 5-3, largely due to its dominant defense despite its 25th-ranked offense. With rookie Bo Nix at the helm, the Broncos could use a strong running game, but the duo of Javonte Williams and Jaleel McLaughlin are pretty disappointing. They have a combined average of 3.9 yards per carry and their PFF grades Ranks 41st and 48th among 63 backs with at least 30 carries this season.

Mostert could provide a boost to an offense that has been in the lackluster AFC in the postseason and provide some much-needed help to the Broncos’ rookie quarterback.
