Shelocta man killed in multi-vehicle, motorcycle crash, PSP says

INDIANA COUNTY, Pa. (WJAC) – A Shelocta man was killed in a multi-vehicle and motorcycle crash Wednesday evening, according to state police in Indiana County.

According to investigators, officers were dispatched to the scene of an accident on the 3000 block of Route 85 in South Mahoning Township just before 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.

According to police, the driver of a Harley-Davidson, identified as 51-year-old Rory Gittings, was reportedly traveling eastbound when he crossed into the oncoming lane of traffic and collided with a Dodge Caravan.

According to police, Gittings was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officials said the driver of the van and two passengers were treated for suspected minor injuries.

The state police’s investigation into the cause of the accident is continuing.
