Fairfield tax firm joins Vacaville Chamber – The Vacaville Reporter

Tax Ace, a Fairfield-based company, has joined the Vacaville Chamber of Commerce, which hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the company on Wednesday.

Debbie Egidio, president and CEO of the Vacaville Chamber of Commerce, said the chamber is pleased to support Tax Ace, which joined just a few weeks ago.

“Whenever we add a new member to the chamber, one of the opportunities for that member is to host an anniversary for our company to recognize them becoming part of our chamber community,” she said. “We’re just getting to know Tax Ace, but we’re excited to have them with us.”

Cutting-edge events give the chamber an opportunity to introduce new businesses to the community and build connections with new members, she said. While Tax Ace is based in Fairfield, she said the chamber is happy to work with any businesses that have customers in the Vacaville area. Tax Ace is a member of several chambers of commerce in the area, she said.

“Our membership extends beyond the boundaries of our city,” she said. “What we find and what we recommend to people is, ‘You should join a chamber where you do business.’ Just because this company may be based in Fairfield, they have customers in Vacaville and that’s where they want to market, get their name out there and make connections in the community,” she said.

The ribbon cuttings provide an opportunity to visit the company and highlight its membership, she said.

“For us, they mean the opportunity to network with our companies and get to know them personally in their business,” she said.

Egidio said the chamber wants to represent not just the business owners, but the entire staff.

“Once (the company) is a chamber member, they are all chamber members,” she said.

The chamber is a membership-based organization, Egidio said, and businesses pay dues to become part of the organization.

“What they’re going to get out of this is a lot of marketing and advertising so they can spread word of mouth,” Egidio said. “For larger companies it may be about the advocacy we do with our city councils and other elected officials, but for small companies it is typically the real face-to-face networking and marketing.”

The chamber will host a business forum on Nov. 13 on the upcoming 700 Parc on Main downtown project and co-host a launchpad event with the city of Vacaville and the SBDC.

While the chamber continually strives to expand membership, the hope is to be able to support all Vacaville businesses, she said.

“We are a membership organization, but at our heart we care about serving all businesses so we can be vital to communities,” she said. “And when the time comes, hopefully we will have a lot more members,” she said.

At a recent Vacaville City Council meeting, Egidio noted that the chamber currently has over 480 companies from various industries as members. About 85 percent of businesses have 15 employees or fewer, she said, reflecting the makeup of the city’s economy. At its peak in 2021-2022, she said, the chamber had over 530 members, but was back under 500 by the time of the council meeting.

Egidio said the chamber also hosts events, including monthly mixers and the annual Night of Champions gala. Each year the Chamber names Business of the Year, Civil Servant of the Year, Young Professional of the Year and Ambassador of the Year.
