Dallas Cowboys suddenly a playoff candidate? Micah Parsons declares war

The Dallas Cowboys celebrate their first home win of the season on Thanksgiving. After two wins in a row, Micah Parsons’ playoff dream is suddenly alive.

The Dallas Cowboys are in the NFL currently on the rise. A few days after the surprising victory at the Washington Commanders The Texans also won against the New York Giants on Thanksgiving.

It was the first home win for Dallas this season and the second consecutive victory against an NFC East rival. However, the Cowboys still have a record of 5-7 and the Giants are one of the worst teams in the league.

No reason for flights of fancy – one would think. However, Micah Parsons sees the revelation very differently. After the game, the pass rusher naturally declared his team a legitimate playoff candidate.

“To be honest: Why not us?” Parsons said on “Fox Sports” and explained that the team also wanted to show a response to all the critics.

“Everyone has written us off, enough is enough. We know what we can do and I believe in each and every one of these guys. And I think we can turn things around and make a run,” said the defensive star.

In the remaining five games of the season, the Cowboys still have some difficult tasks on their agenda. The Cincinnati Bengals are guests next week, then the Carolina Panthers before the Tampa Bay Buccaneers come to Texas.

Direct duel against the Commanders?

After an away game at the Philadelphia Eagles, the regular season ended with the return game against Washington. The Commanders currently hold the third wild card in the NFC with a 7-5 record. Depending on how the season progresses, there could actually be a direct duel for the playoffs against the team from the capital.

But that would really require a winning streak and a lot of help from the competition. Parsons still sees the Cowboys in a good position – despite that Long-term absences for quarterback Dak Prescott. Its representative Cooper Rush recently appeared properly twice – but nothing more.

“There’s been a lot of trash talking about what difference we can still make, but there are other players coming back,” Parsons said, referring to cornerback Trevon Diggs and fellow pass rusher DeMarcus Lawrence. From his perspective, the message is clear. “I’m telling you all right now: We’re coming!”
