At Lidl you can get a smart thermostat from Tado in the starter kit for half the price around Black Friday. Sometimes you save even more with another deal.

Lidl is giving a 60 percent discount and is offering the Tado V3+ thermostat for just 59.99 euros. Other retailers offer the set for 99.99 euros.

However, the Lidl deal has a catch. The Tado V3+ is a discontinued model. The latest generation of smart thermostats is called Tado X and is not backwards compatible.

It offers a number of advantages over the V3+ series – such as easier installation, a touchscreen for easy operation, a battery that can be recharged via USB C, which replaces the need to change the battery and, last but not least, support for the new smart home standards Object and threads, making the smart thermostats easier to connect to other devices.

Alternative Tado X at tink
