Harald Krassnitzer finds Christmas and birthdays stressful

When other people celebrate, actor Harald Krassnitzer (64; “Tatort Wien” etc.) feels rather uncomfortable: “There are two festivals a year that always mean a certain amount of hardship for me.”

“This is my birthday and the other is Christmas,” he told the “Neue Osnabrücker Zeitung” (Friday): “There are so many guidelines for feelings and situations that there is no longer any room for your own decisions.”

On these days you are always forced to do certain things that you completely lose sight of the actual reason, he added: “Then in the evening you can barely manage a glass of wine because of sheer exhaustion and think: How absurd, the quietest time .” a year and you are completely spreadable. And then after these three days we move on to the next goal, New Year’s Eve.

Celebrate without fuss

He and his wife, the actress Ann-Kathrin Kramer, “really needed years until we reduced Christmas to the point where we like it,” Krassnitzer added: “We meet people we like, cook together, sit there .”, chat and don’t make a big fuss.

We no longer give gifts except to people who we know really need it.

However, he does like Christmas comedies, admitted the “Tatort” star, who can be seen on Thursday in the ARD film “Angel with Limited Liability” (December 5th, 8:15 p.m., in advance in the media library) as a guardian angel with burnout syndrome:

“Really successful comedies are good for me because I notice how relaxing they are and that this genre of film can still take you away and inspire you for a moment.”

Praise for adopted home Wuppertal

The Austrian paid a pre-Christmas compliment to his adopted home of Wuppertal: Unlike in large centers, the people here are “much closer to the problems and concerns” and therefore implement things in a much more pragmatic way: “I have never experienced it like this in any other city .” You could say that the citizens are involved here.

80 percent of the cultural initiatives and a very high proportion of the social initiatives that take place here would not be possible without this citizenry, which provides considerable financial resources.

In Wuppertal, Krassnitzer continues, what is practiced is what is stated in the Basic Law: property is an obligation. “Here people are very unpretentiously committed, without paying attention to self-interest or marketing advantages. It’s seen as a silent commitment, and I think that’s great.”

Christmas is the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ. It is not known exactly when Jesus was born, around 2,000 years ago. The celebration of December 25th as the birth of Jesus was first documented in Rome in the year 336.

Christmas means something like holy, consecrated nights. According to Christian understanding, the birth of Jesus means the incarnation of God; In Jesus, God communicated himself to people, entered into their history, had mercy on them and gave them salvation. That’s why Christmas is considered a festival of love.
