Ilse DeLange in Hamburg – “The Voice of Holland”

Ilse DeLange in Hamburg – “The Voice of Holland”

Was it really ten years ago that Ilse DeLange took second place with the country pop number “Calm After The Storm” in a duet with singer Waylon as The Common Linnets at the ESC in Copenhagen – just behind Conchita Wurst?

She has long been a superstar in her native Netherlands: in 1998, when DeLange was just 21 years old, her first number 1 album “World Of Hurt”, produced in Nashville, was released there. The next highlight of her career was the casting show “The Voice of Holland”. In 2013 and 2014 she was a coach there and passed on her musical knowledge to the singing participants.

The musician comes to the new CCH with country pop

The German television audience knows the fluent German-speaking singer and songwriter from the TV show “Sing meine Song – Das Tauschkonzert” and as a juror on the casting show “Deutschland sucht den Superstar 2022”. In 2021 she also took part in the RTL show “Let’s Dance”.

With her solo album “Tainted”, released at the beginning of May, she is finally going on a concert tour again. In Hamburg she will have the honor of musically inaugurating the newly renovated Hall 1 in the CCH. Their new songs are stylistically broad: from country to electronic pop sounds of the 80s to rock, from banjo to synthesizers to steel guitar, everything is included. “I love the different genres. But country music runs through as a common thread. “You can tell by my singing that I’m very influenced by her,” says DeLange.

She has already received the Country Music Association Award twice. In 2020, she received the Jeff Walker Global Country Artist Award as the most distinctive country music artist outside the United States. There is no question that the evening with her will be musically first-class.
