Stiftung Warentest For more than 50 years, it has made it its mission to fully review goods and services in order to provide a reliable conclusion for end consumers. We’ll tell you which soundbars are among the test winners in the corresponding evaluation and where you can buy them cheaply.

In the comparison of the foundation, which was launched in February 2024 under the name “Speakers for strong TV sound” was published, were in total 171 soundbars and sound plates examined. The main criteria include:

1st place: Test winner Nubert nuPro XS-8500 RC Soundbar

Three devices in third place

Three soundbars could be used with the Note 1.9 convince in comparison and secure third place. One comes from that Home LG and goes by the illustrious name DS90QY. The soundbar achieved good to very good results in the categories of sound (1.9), handling (2.0) and power consumption (1.2). This makes the device from LG a real all-rounder. You connect your devices via two HDMI ports, optical digital inputs or Bluetooth. The soundbar supports Dolby Atmos and DTS:X. However, note that the DS90QY comes with a separate powered subwoofer that is also tucked away.

The came in third place with an overall grade of 1.9 LG DS95QR. In all categories – Sound, handling and power consumption – the model scores 1.9. Here you get the same features as the DS90QY, but you need one more HDMI connection and have sophisticated surround sound – because two satellite boxes are also included in this package.

Also die nuPro AS-3500 from Nubert can with one Grade 1.9 in the quality assessment convince. You can currently buy the speaker on Amazon, for example. It is particularly impressive thanks to its five inputs for direct connection and easy operation using the included remote control.

Grade 2.0: These devices were also rated well

Fourth place is also hotly contested. Six models end up here with a rating of 2.0. These are particularly noteworthy here Model LG DS80QYwhich can convince with good performance in terms of sound and handling, especially with a very good power consumption (1.1). The Stiftung Warentest editorial team also awarded the LG DS80QY combination with the SPQ8-S wireless rear speakers the same grade.

They are equal to a grade of 2.0 JBL Bar 800 as well as die JBL Bar 1300 included. The two models differ in their size and the number of HDMI ports. The 1300 version also features DTS:X for particularly immersive 3D sound.

You get first-class sound with it LG DSP11RA sound bar (1.9). However, you pay for the sound performance of the soundbar, subwoofer and satellite speakers with an only satisfactory rating (3.4) in terms of power consumption.

It’s nice and compact with it Sound plate Nubert nuBoxx AS-425 max. Stiftung Warentest evaluates it without many extra boxes Sound with good (2.1) and power consumption with very good (0.6). The model is available on Amazon for a great price in black and white.
