Nottingham Forest 1-0 Ipswich Town: What Kieran McKenna said

Ipswich coach Kieran McKenna spoke to BBC Match of the Day after the narrow defeat: “I think it was a pretty even game. It wasn’t the highest quality game of the season. but they were the ones who understood it.

“We are disappointed. From our point of view it’s a bad penalty.”

“We had a lot of moments in the first half. We had chances and applied a lot of pressure. The first goal felt important and on another day we would have got it. Nice lead.”

For punishment: “I can understand why the ball was given. He lunges from behind and you give the referee a decision. I haven’t seen it up close, but I understand why it was given in real time.”

“I don’t think we can say we did our best to win the game, but I think we deserved something. We have to take steps if we want to win consistently.”
